The violin is an emblematic acoustic instrument, symbol of the acoustic perfection in the lutherie of string rubbed instruments. In Cruci-Fiction, a trunk converted into a quasi “divine” instrument is now reconverted into a piece of wood that takes de shape of a Crux Immissa (Latin Cross), one of the different crosses used in crucifixions in the antique Chaldea and Rome. But the tension and the suspension of the violin bears also the shape of a crossed cross, the letter Qui or X, that the emperor Constantine declared having seen in a vision that took him to be the defender of the Christian faith in Rome. The violin is here sacralised (as it has some how always been), but at the same time tortured, reduced to the role of a criminal, a rebel or a slave. In Cruci-Fiction, an invented fictitious and ambiguous symbolic game emerges, bringing contradictory messages based in the different ritual symbolisms of the different crosses, pagan, Vedic and Christian, as well as in this humble instrument carved in wood, that due to the evolution of electronic technology and to the ignorance and musical alienation of the public, seems to have no other option that to condemn itself, suffering in tension and silence with the hope of becoming a new martyr.

El violín es un instrumento acústico emblemático, símbolo de la perfección acústica en la laudería de instrumentos de cuerda frotada. En Cruci-Ficción (Cruci-Fiction en inglés), el madero, el árbol que se ha convertido en un instrumento musical, ahora se vuelve a convertir en una pieza de madera que toma la forma de una Cruz Immisa, una de las distintas cruces utilizadas en las crucifixiones de la Caldea y la Roma Antiguas. Pero la tensión, la suspensión del violín, toma aquí también la forma de una cruz cruzada, la letra Qui, o X, que el emperador Constantino declaró haber visto en una visión que le condujo a ser el valedor de la fe Cristiana. El violín es aquí sacralizado (como de algún modo siempre lo ha sido), pero es al mismo tiempo torturado, rebajado al papel de un criminal, un rebelde o un esclavo. En Cruci-Ficción se crea entonces un juego simbólico inventado, ficticio, con mensajes contradictorios basados en los distintos simbolismos rituales de las distintas cruces, paganas, védicas, y cristianas, así como de este humilde instrumento tallado en madera, que a causa de los avances de la tecnología electrónica así como de la ignorancia y de la enajenación musical del popolo, parece no tener otra opción que condenarse, sufriendo en tensión y en silencio con la esperanza de convertirse en un nuevo mártir.
