This work was a commission for the festival Mecánica Nancarrow at La Casa del Lago, University of Mexico. It is an homage for the 100th birthday of north american-mexican composer Conlon Nancarrow. We were asked to create a remix from any chosen mechanic piano studios of the author. In my case, I decided to make an exhaustive analysis of all Nancarrows studies, and starting from there I selected those that were more interesting to me. I processed the sounds mainly with time granular stretching. Nancarrows music stretched out lives in another time, it is more resonant, the piano timbre qualities are enhanced, it is more plastic and almost minimalist. At the end, within all these expanded chords and arpeggios come out from the bottom up, tens of original studies with out processing, mixed all together; it is the spirit of his true work living in the abyss of this dark cavern of resonant densities and opacities.

Esta obra fue un encargo para el festival Mecánica Nancarrow de la Casa del Lago. Se trata de un homenaje al centenario del natalicio del compositor norteamericano-mexicano. Nos pidieron a  varios creadores sónicos mexicanos hacer un remix a partir de algunos de los estudios para piano mecánico del autor. En mi caso, decidí hacer un análisis aural exhaustivo de todos los estudios de Nancarrow, y a partir de allí seleccioné aquellos que me interesaron para luego procesarlos por medio de dilataciones temporales llevadas a cabo con síntesis granular temporal. La música de Nancarrow estirada vive en otro tiempo, se vuelve mas resonante, timbrica, plástica y cuasi minimalista. Al final, dentro de todos esos acordes y arpegios dilatados surgen del fondo decenas de estudios originales sin procesamiento, mezclados todos juntos; es el espíritu de su verdadera obra viviendo en el abismo de esa caverna oscura de densidades y opacidades resonantes.
