For Marshall McLuhan, a visual space is sequential and has limits while an acoustic space is full of simultaneous events and its limitless. For him, an acoustic space could be described as a multi centered sphere where not a single center is more important than any other. This evokes a complex space, always different and where there always exists a kind of true democracy, there are no gravity centers. In music we could think of atonal music but also in other types of systems like Cage, Feldman, Brown and Wolf’s indeterminism for example? I found handcrafted tuning pegs made with precious wood in the Paracho town in Michoacán Mexico, and decided to find the same kind of wood (grenadilla and cuevano) in order to make three spheres, the smallest one for the violin pegs, the middle one for guitar pegs, and the biggest one for the “gitarrón” (a big mariachi guitar) pegs. To find the equidistant points y started with the poles of the spheres, north, south, east, west, middle east and middle west, finding 6 points, and then I searched for other equidistant points finding at the end 14 in total that were later pierced in order to place the pegs. The result was three virtual instruments with out strings, but that try to denote a possibility within many others to create a infinite no linear instrument that has the potential to produce new music’s with hypothetical tunings, and that refers on the other hand to an utopic anti hegemonic musical esthetic of social equality.

Según Marshall MacLuhan, un espacio visual es secuencial y tiene límites mientras que un espacio acústico esta lleno de eventos simultáneos y es ilimitado. Para el,  un espacio acústico podría ser descrito como una esfera multi céntrica donde ningún centro es más importante que cualquier otro. Esto evoca un espacio complejo y siempre distinto en donde existe una especie de verdadera democracia, no hay centros de gravedad. En música podríamos pensar en la música atonal pero también en otro tipo de sistemas, como el indeterminismo de Cage, Feldman, Brown y Wolf por ejemplo?. Encontré clavijas de afinación artesanales hechas con maderas preciosas de violín, guitarra y guitarrón hechas en el pueblo de Paracho en Michoacán México, y decidí conseguir las mismas maderas con las que estaban hechas (granadillo y cuévano) para hacer tres esferas, la más pequeña con las clavijas de violín, la mediana con clavijas de guitarra y la más grande con las clavijas del guitarrón. Para encontrar los distintos puntos equidistantes comencé por los polos de la esfera, norte sur y este oeste, y medio este medio oeste, encontrando 6 puntos, luego busque otros puntos equidistantes posibles y llegué a tener 14 puntos en total que fueron luego perforados para poder colocar las clavijas. El resultado, tres instrumentos virtuales que no tienen cuerdas, pero que intentan denotar una posibilidad entre muchas otras para crear un instrumento no lineal e infinito que tiene el potencial de producir nuevas músicas con hipotéticas afinaciones y que alude por otro lado a una estética musical utópica de igualdad social y anti hegemónica.
